TNBT: How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?
One year. I am not the slowest writer in the world, but I am far from being the fastest.
TNBT: Who or what inspired you to write this book?
My definition of inspiration: creative impulse meets fear of failure.
TNBT: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
A lot of reviewers have said it reminds them of Lord of the Flies, except that it is much more upbeat. At the same time, many other readers have said they went through a box of tissues.
