The science of the story was explained quite simply, and in a believable matter. I really appreciate that it wasn’t dumbed down for younger readers. In fact, none of the story had any of the lacking that is present in many MG/young YA stories. The characters were well developed with unique personalities, and the plot had no major holes.
The Toucan Trilogy, for me, is a unique plot with a different spin on the dystopian/post apocalyptic genre. . . cont.
Then the ending lord let me tell you I love Scott but the ending I wanted to strangle him! I was screaming like a banshee at my kindle thinking HELL NO NONONONONONONONONO……………… So yes as your guessing he did it a CLIFF HANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scott you cruel cruel man I need book three like ASAP!

Have you ever been a beta reader? Or, if you are a writer, have you tried to find beta readers to share your work with and receive feedback? As a writer, I think that beta readers are one of the most important parts of the publishing process. As a reader, you are providing an invaluable service. Yet there are many challenges for both parties.
This is an awesome second book in the series. It picks up where the first book left off and we get a good look at what has happened in the world. We see how the children are creating their own societies and how the adults are grooming the next generation. There’s also something weird going on with the adults but no one seems too concerned until the end.
Do you like the spotlight or lurking in the shadows?
I am an observer. If I am at a party, I tend to stay on the sidelines, observing and listening. We picked up our daughter at the airport the other day. Airports are great for people watching. Coffee shops are a close second. I do like to meet and talk with people, but in small groups or one on one.
